This is Scripture Roundtable 83 from The Interpreter Foundation, in which we discuss the Old Testament Gospel Doctrine Lesson #33, Sharing the Gospel with the World, focusing on scriptures in Jonah 1-4, and Micah 2 and 4-7, bringing in various insights to help us better understand the scriptures. These roundtables will generally follow the 2014 Gospel Doctrine schedule of scriptures, a few weeks ahead of time.
Panelists for this roundtable are Mike Parker, Ben McGuire, Daniel Peterson, and Bruce Webster.
For an introduction to the ideas raised by the book of Jonah regarding the openness of God and limited foreknowledge, see Blake T. Ostler, “The Mormon Concept of God: A Philosophical Analysis“, FARMS Review of Books 8/2 (1996): 99–146.
This roundtable is also available as an audio podcast, and will be included in the podcast feed. You can listen by pressing the play button or download the podcast below:

I just viewed this discussion for the 2nd time in preparation for giving this lesson tomorrow. I just wanted to thank you guys again for all of your efforts on these. I especially like this combination of participants. Each of you have a very unique and different perspective. Collectively the insight the four of you present is very broad and very interesting.
I know this must take time from your already busy schedules. I sincerely hope you will be bless for your efforts because what you are doing is certainly helping me in my gospel study.
Thanks again,
-Andres Gonzalez
The case Bruce mentioned at the very end of the discussion happened in my stake (though I wasn’t aware of it until after I left). The fallout was bad enough that they actually dissolved the ward and reorganized it.
