Gerrit Bos is chair of the Martin Buber Institute for Jewish Studies at the University of Cologne, Germany. He is the general editor of the Medical Works of Moses Maimonides, a series of sixteen volumes published by the Middle Eastern Texts Initiative at Brigham Young University. He is proficient in classical and Semitic languages, particularly Arabic and Hebrew, and is widely published in the fields of Jewish studies, Islamic studies, and medieval Islamic science and medicine.
