This is Scripture Roundtable 115 from The Interpreter Foundation, in which we discuss the New Testament Gospel Doctrine Lesson #17, “What Shall I Do That I May Inherit Eternal Life?” focusing on scriptures in Mark 10 and 12, and Luke 12, 14, and 16, bringing in various insights to help us better understand the scriptures. These roundtables will generally follow the 2015 Gospel Doctrine schedule of scriptures, a few weeks ahead of time.
Panelists for this roundtable are Kristine Frederickson, Jeff Bradshaw, Ben McGuire, and Daniel Peterson.
This roundtable is also available as an audio podcast, and will be included in the podcast feed. You can listen by pressing the play button or download the podcast below:

It pains me to see all that we must pass over in order to conform to the limits of the lesson manual. But could we hear more doctrine and less time on milking the obvious? Who was it that said: “manuals were made for man, not man for manuals”? Excuse my candor, but that is the way true friends talk. Keep up this most helpful work.
In response to Dan’s closing remark, “I hope this has been of value,” yes, always of value!
Funny, listening to you all must have been similar to listening to a discussion by the scribes after having heard Jesus say these things. You don’t have to actually do anything different. Amassing wealth is still OK. You just have to be “willing” – not actually DO anything different (just for kicks, review the podcast and count the number of times you used the term ‘willing’). A lesson of the Widow’s mite: God doesn’t care how much you give. He cares how much you hold back. Sigh… Keep up the good work though. Enjoy all your podcasts (some, like this one, for the humor factor).
